Dallas Lodge Family Recognition Night
Friday, November 13, 2009
At it's regular meeting on Thursday, November 12, 2009, Dallas Lodge #182 welcomed brethren, family, friends, and loved ones all into the lodge to thank the families for their support of masonry throughout the past year.
The evening began with a wonderful dinner of turkey, dressing, green beans, corn, sweet potatoes, and various sweets provided by Bros. Seth Cates, Joel Slack, Jeremy Pilgrim, Matt Gurley, Brett Reece, and their respective families. Over 110 plates of food were served and everyone looked happy to beging the program portion of the night.
W. M. Matt Webb opened the program with a welcome greeting and recognition of the 2009 line of officers. The Worshipful Master also presented the lodge with a plaque that was presented by Grand Master J. Edward Jennings, Jr. through the W.M. to the lodge for being recognized as the 7th Masonic District Lodge of the Year.
W. Bro. Drew Lane, 2nd Grand Steward for the Grand Lodge of Georgia, then presented 50 year awards to Bros. John Richard Schreiber, Lewis Clack, and Douglas Edward Morris. The brethren expressed their gratitude toward the lodge and masonry in general.
The Lodge was then turned over the the Fellowcraft Club from Battle Hill Lodge #523 for the presentation of their drama "Rose on the Alter". This is an amazing story of masonic charity and one that every mason (and non-mason) should see.
It was truly an amazing evening of fun and fellowship.
